The governor will now talk to Nairobians directly through phone calls and direct appointment bookings unlike in the past where the conversations had to be channeled through secretaries and personal assistants.

In a communique Tuesday morning, the governor said he will be receiving calls from residents first thing in the morning before he embarks on other official duties.

"Good morning Nairobians. I will be receiving your calls from 5.50 am to 7.30 am. Use 0722886600 in case busy just text and I will call back," he said.

Sonko however cautioned that the phone calls should be made over urgent issues only.

"Urgent issues please especially on challenges we are facing. Those with appointments for this morning use the gate facing City Hall Annex na musiogope ni usiku just txt utakujiwa from the gate," he added.

This will be good news to poor people from areas like Kibera and other low income earner areas where residents felt locked out from accessing the governor.
