The students noted that the five-year ban is so severe adding that they are sorry for what occurred and would love the school administration to plea on their behalf.

A section of students, however, accused the school administration of being silent and doing nothing to lift the ban on the volleyball and football teams.

“It was wrong beating up the referee but we did it out of love for our school which we were representing. It was out of honor and love for our school. The school administration should not treat us like we are criminals but use their influence to lift the ban,” said Mike Sambili a student from the institutio

Another student identified as Fred Khisa opined that: “We have numerous talents in Maseno and all this will go to waste if something about the ban is not done. There is no other place where we can further our skills and talents as there is no other institution ahead of University."

They also called upon KUSA to investigate the referee for cases of being partisan.

“It was so open that we were denied a clear penalty twice. This angered us and we want the referee who officiated the game to be investigated further for favoritism,” Said Daniel Omondi.
