The Mombasa Court on Tuesday detained a man believed to be behind the murder of two foreign nationals.

Mr Humphrey Guma Igadwa was being accused of allegedly killing two Swiss nationals, Marrianne Harnel and Werner Bornerv Paul.

The court heard that the accused person who was the night guard of the deceased together with others before he killed the Swiss couple before dumping their bodies in Kiembeni area of Mombasa.

The court heard that the accused person committed the crime on the night of August 20, 2017 at the home of the couple in Nyali estate and dumped the bodies at Kiembeni area.

The accused person however denied the charges before the court and filed an application to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.

The prosecution asked the court to detain the accused saying they intend to file an affidavit opposing the bond.

Another suspect, Mr Geoffrey Mwaki who was the care taker of the deceased, was also charged in a different Mombasa Court over the killing of the two Swiss nationals.

Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony directed the office of DPP to consolidated the two files.

Justice Chekwony ordered for the accused person to remain in police custody.

The case will be heard on April 18, 2018.
