A notorious suspected Kondele serial robber was on Monday afternoon lynched by locals after robbing an elderly woman of her valuables.
The man identified only as ‘Penga' has been a threat to the locals for a long time terrorizing them and stealing their valuables.
The alleged robber tricked an elderly woman into directing her to a restaurant before robbing her of her porch and phone.
The incident happened at the famous kondele by-pass.
She called out for help and a nearby shopkeeper attended to her disastrous call for help.
“I was at my shop selling charcoal to a customer when I heard the elderly woman scream and responded immediately with my elderly son. We were quick enough and with the help of locals we were able to nab the offender who is well known to the locals, " stated Mr.Jareteng.
He was lynched by angry residents before being rescued by police from Kondele police station who took him to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga hospital.
The locals say he has been terrorizing them often with common cases of breaking into homes and stealing household items especially electronics.
He is accused of stealing computer, TV sets, Mobile phones, money among others.
"This man has been a nuisance the residents of kondele and Manyatta especially new unsuspecting tenants. Finally his day has come, Says a Joyful Mirriam Oketch.
Kondele OCPD Christopher Mshimba confirmed the incident and cautioned locals against taking the law into their own hands. He further congratulated those who came to the rescue of the woman.
" I wanted to caution you against taking the law into the your own hands. Let the criminal justice system do their work, " Further said Mshimba.
