The rape incident happened on Wednesday at Sugubo village.

According to the victim Jessica Moraa, the suspect only identified only as Kebati forced her into his house on Wednesday evening where he locked her the whole night.

“Kebati forced me to enter his house when I had gone to ask him to give me my Sh50 debt he had taken for my avocados. When I entered inside his house, he locked the door on claims that he didn’t want anyone to notice whether he was around,” said Moraa.

Moraa said it was getting dark and she asked him to allow her go but the teacher declined and said they must have sex before she leaves the house.

“She insisted that I should have sex with him. I refused but he forced me, removed my clothes and raped me several times the whole night,” she said.

When questioned why she didn’t scream for help, Moraa said the man threatened to kill her and she was covered with clothes in her mouth during the ordeal.

Area assistant chief Godfrey Onchoke confirmed the incident and said the teacher has gone into hiding.

Onchoke said the rape incident was reported to Nyacheki police station and the officers have launched a manhunt to bring the suspect to justice.
