Team Mafisi are spilling sweet poison all over social media after Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris posted a photo of her 22-year-old daughter Makenna.
In the post, Passaris shared two photos and said:
"In my daughter's eyes, I see a mature girl ready to take on the world, one who can think deeply and dare to find solutions. I love you Kenna and I know you will bloom in your own time. Don't rush through life's mysteries, but enjoy every stage. Happy, Happy 22nd Birthday."
However, tough tackles began right from the start.
"Tell us on her virginity," said Moreno KimChung, a user.
But the representative of Nairobi women would take none of such talk.
"That is none of your business. Neither is it my business. #GrowUp #RespectWomen," she responded angrily.
Bernard Kimutai said took the same route as Moreno but his steps were careful.
"I need coordinates to your compound. Who knows, luck may make me your son-in-law," he said.
To which the proud mother responded:
"Hard work. Good Values and Character. Never Luck. She isn't a lottery ticket. A beautiful soul waiting for her soul mate. Mummy has nothing to do with it. This is where #DreamsNotValid The Science and Statistics of life are harder and tougher in real life than in the classroom."
Another user, apparently a family friend or kin, waved and wished the family good.
"She's an amazing person with a bright future ahead. Whatsapped her first thing this morning. Glad I got to catch up with her and Samara in London early last month. God bless you both!" said Tyrone Kimenyi.
But members of the Mafisi Sacco were not going to lose direction.
"Is she on Twitter? You didn't even @ her. So let me guess, this is more of you showing off to the world than wishing her a happy bday. But she cute though. You are justified to show her off," said user Abunuwasi.
To which the mother responded:
"I am protecting my baby girl from our 'perculiar habits'."
And she was right.
Mafisi Sacco member #1647 Eng Ephraim Kenny said:
"Mhesh I've been loitering looking for a gal aged between 22-24. Kumbe una tuirio twega hivi. Iyo link ukam through. Happy birthday wife to be," he said.
Another user Nah Erie would not allow other 'hyenas' to fly past him:
"This Princess needs a God fearing gentleman, who doesn't smoke nor drink and a protector. I'm the suiter. I'm the ONE!"
And Sir Jeff Kizzilah would not be left behind with his God-fearing talent.
"Happy birthday. I'm looking for a God-fearing girl to have a relationship, not because your mum is rich or what.. Rich is for (the) world but a prosperous life comes from God. So please I love u."
Unemployed Professor, another user, said:
"Happy birthday @EstherPassaris my brother here @omondimcochieng is single and when it comes to Luo traditions I can't marry before him. He is delaying me help a son here."
