Speaking during a session in parliament on Wednesday, Duale said he was introduced into politics by Raila.

The vocal Jubilee MP termed the opposition chief as a man who is loved and hated in equal measure.

“I am a happy man because I was inducted into politics by none other than Raila Odinga. Of course, there are people who are scared of Raila Odinga. He is loved and hated in equal measure in our country,” said Duale, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.

Duale made the remarks during a debate on Friday's pact between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila.

This is not the first time the Garissa Township MP has acknowledged the crucial role Raila played in his life.

In 2015, Duale said he doesn’t hold a grudge against Raila, adding that his responses to the former Prime Minister are because of the responsibilities bestowed upon him as the National Assembly Majority Leader.

"I learned politics from the opposition leader who we even meet at the gymnasium as a good friend and he knows my family. My responses to him are a responsibility am bestowed with as the majority leader," said Duale.
