 1. Menstrual Cycles

It is common for women to experience pain in the nipples during menstrual cycles. Menstrual cycles can be hurting as well as annoying at the same time.  In order to reduce the pain, it is recommended to limit your consumption of sodium. Sodium makes the body to retain water hence making the sores more painful over time.

 2. Pregnancy

Pregnancy is another possible reason why your breasts are painful.  During this period, the hormones become crazy and the breasts turn sensitive to them over time. Your nipples will become fuller and tenderer if you become pregnant. The condition is commonly experienced within the eight weeks of your pregnancy.

3. Mastitis

Mastitis can also lead to painful nipples. Pain in your nipples is beyond the change in the level of hormones in your body. Mastitis makes your nipples red, painful and swollen over time. Other symptoms of this health condition include fevers, fatigue, and chills among others. The condition is very common during the breastfeeding stage of a woman’s life. The best way to avoid suffering from this condition is pumping your breast milk and regularly breastfeeding your child. It is also advisable to seek medical attention if the condition does not change in a period of 24 hours.

4. Allergic Reaction

There is no doubt that the breasts are among the most sensitive body parts. It is common for the breasts to suffer from allergic reactions. Certain soaps, laundry detergents, and fabric are likely to make your nipples more painful over time. Pain in the nipples is likely to show that you are suffering from an allergic reaction.
