The Nakuru County assembly members last evening went home seemingly divided regarding the re-appointment of MCA Mwaura Njenga as majority leader by the TNA party.

Barely hours after the announcement was made via a letter authored by TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo Thursday morning, the majority leader who succeeded ousted Mwaura, Waithuki Njane of Naivasha East ward, hurriedly convened a media conference to counter that one made by Mwaura earlier in the day.

Njane, who was flanked by several MCAs, said TNA has no business meddling in Nakuru County government affairs, adding that a majority leader is elected by the Jubilee coalition members and not members of one of its affiliates.

“This is not a TNA seat, my deputy is from URP,” the Naivasha East ward MCA said.

“Also, majority leaders are not elected out in the bush. Hon Mwaura should not go round beating the bush like a woman.

“He should come and confront us face-to-face because I was elected to this position by MCAs and only they can remove me from it.”

He said he cannot bother going to see Oloo “who I know supports Mwaura because the TNA chairman here (in Nakuru County) Mr Githaiga is his (Mwaura’s) uncle. Our chairman in Nakuru County TNA is James Karimi Waiganjo and not Githaiga.”
