A section of male students at Maseno University have devised tricks that they use to lure girls into sex at the institution.
An interview conducted by a Hivisasa writer on a number of students revealed four different tricks.
1. Invitation for supper
Male students who reside away from the college periphery invite females students to their rooms for supper, after which they convince them to spend the night there.
“Most of these “supper things” are never real. It’s just used as bait. Food will be served at midnight,” said Kirui Evans, a fourth-year student at Maseno University.
2. Invited her for a night party
According to Kevin Omariba, a fourth-year student taking Economics, other boys prefer inviting female students for a night club party.
He explained that most parties end late in the night, therefore hindering her from going back to her place due to security fears.
3. Watching movies
Other male students noted that they invite their female friends to their rooms to watch movies together.
According to this group, the movie is carefully selected to ensure that it takes the girl into that desired mood.
“She slept at my place after watching a movie. The movie did it for me,” said Ignatius Waluke.
Angela Moiben, a second-year student at the institution admitted to having almost fallen into trap of these boys.
“I once allowed a friend to stay in my room at night as it was very late and he couldn’t go back to his place. We 'fell in love' that night out of nowhere,” she said.
