Two people were killed separately in cold blood at Ndenderu in Kiambaa sub-county on Monday evening as they went home.
The two are said to have been stoned to death by unknown thugs with nothing being stolen from them.
"One of the deceased, a woman, was a nurse at St Teresa's Hospital in Kikuyu and was going home at around 9pm. She called her husband to inform him that she had arrived at Ndenderu shopping centre.
"The husband went to pick her but found her lying unconscious 100 metres from their home," said James Nduati, a resident on Tuesday.
Kiambaa OCPD Wilberforce Sichialani confirmed the incident saying investigations into the matter have started.
"We are not going to rest till we apprehend the criminals behind this callous and beastly act. Investigations are on high gear and we will soon bring all those involved to book," he said.
Residents are now living in fear as they now suspect that a marauding gang that was terrorizing residents in the area few months ago could have regrouped.
Ten people were killed the same way before the gang went underground.
