This follows locals' concerns that part of the land meant for public use had been grabbed by notorious land cartels in the county.

Speaking to the press at a local hotel after addressing a National Construction Authority (NCA) Stakeholders Forum, Chemno said the county government will not approve buildings of any structure on suspected public land.

“Those who have grabbed public land in Kapsoya or any other place in this county should be warned that we are going for them and they shall face the full face of the law,”said Chemno on Friday.

“As a county we have made it clear that anyone planning to construct a building on a land believed to be meant for public use will not be approved,” he added.

The Deputy governor has further revealed that they are working with the National Lands Commission(NLC), the lands officials and financial institutions in the county to ensure such individuals don't get loans using the grabbed land.

There has been growing concerns that several public land in Kapsoya have been grabbed by individuals with some already preparing to put up buildings.
