Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has added his voice to calls for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to be compensated by the government.More than 500 people were affected by the post-electoral that ravaged the Uasin Gishu region after the 2007 disputed presidential elections.''They have waited for long enough, we are calling on the national government to settle their cases once and for all. They should not be forgotten, that is our most humble plea to the national government.'' The Deputy Governor said in Eldoret yesterday.

Uasin Gishu was one of the regions that were most affected by the post-electoral mayhem.

About 1600 people were killed and many more displaced and maimed as the country descended into an internecine bloodbath.
