President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to meet face to face with NASA leader Raila Odinga days after he took an oath of office for his second and final term.

Uhuru and Raila will meet at the burial of the late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze scheduled for Tuesday next week at his rural home in Kitui.

According to Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula, Raila will lead the opposition brigade to bid farewell to the late Wiper MP.

Speaking during the late Nyenze’s burial fundraiser at the Kenyatta International Conference center (KICC) in Nairobi on Wednesday, Wetangula said they are prepared to give a befitting send off to the late Nyenze who he described as a defender of the Kamba community.

The Bungoma senator said that Nyenze’s contribution to the wellbeing of NASA was immense.

“We will all converge at Nyenze’s home on Tuesday next week led by our leader Raila Odinga to send off our colleague who was instrumental in the well-being of NASA family,” he said.

Speaking at the fundraiser, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi also confirmed President Kenyatta’s attendance.

Muturi said that Nyenze was a man of the people and knew no tribal boundaries. The National Assembly speaker said that Uhuru will lead Kenyans in sending off the late Wiper MP.

Nyenze died on Wednesday last week at the Nairobi hospital after a long battle with colon cancer.

The late Wiper MP was known for his firm stand on issues and push for the interests of the Kamba nation.

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is also expected at Nyenze’s burial.

Kalonzo who is in Germany attending to his ailing wife is expected to jet in the country over the weekend.

Apart from attending Nyenze’s burial, Kalonzo is also expected to attend the swearing-in of his sown Kenney Musyoka who was elected to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).
