The US government has set aside millions of shillings meant to facilitate talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political opponent, Raila Odinga.

Sources hinted that the US want Kenya's political stalemate resolved to allow citizens move on with their activities.

The push for Odinga and Uhuru to sit down for a talk is being led by US President Donald Trump's pointman in Kenya Mr Robert Godec.

“We are working with Kenyan business, religious and community leaders, as well as other international partners on organising a potential National Conversation and we have funds to support it,” Godec said.

Godec did not however say the exact amount of money but sources said it could clock to Sh60 million.

The money will be used for such payment as venue for a talk, refreshments and any other facilitation that can see the two political bigwigs talk.
