According to Kisii county deputy commissioner Peter Mbugi, the local administrators are doing too little in their areas of administration yet they have bikes to go round the villages to deliver duties.

“We will not continue having illicit brew makers and sellers in villagers yet chiefs are there. In the past, they complained they had transport problems, now they have motorbikes but still, illicit brew dealers are ongoing with illegal business. It is the time the chiefs to be responsible for the bikes be taken away,” said Mbugi.

He said the government will not stop in its war to end crimes and illicit brews.

The DCC assured residents of their security during the festive season.

“Security patrols will be increased in all the sub-counties in Kisii County for smooth festive celebrations," he added.

Mbugi warned bar owners against selling liquor to underage children saying any found will be arrested and prosecuted.
