Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Sunday made a special appeal to brethren at one of the churches in the county.

Speaking during a service at the Lady of Rosary Catholic Parish in Ting’ang’a ward, the county boss asked the worshippers to support and pray for his administration.Waititu said he believes that it is through prayers that Kiambu residents will reap much from his governance. "I asked for the church to continue praying and working with the government for the benefit of all Kiambu residents," read his Facebook post in part.The governor who was accompanied by Kiambu County Majority Leader Anthony Ikonya, Administration CeC Dr Margaret Ruinge among other leaders gave his donation that will go towards supporting the various projects the church intends to undertake."Accompanied by Majority Leader Anthony Ikonya, Administration CeC Dr Margaret Ruinge, and other leaders, we joined the faithful of Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Parish Ting’ang’a in a mass celebration of the solemnity of Pentecost. As leaders we gave our support towards the construction of the church’s projects," posted the Governor.The prayer request comes at a time when the county government is facing opposition from a section of residents, especially bar owners and business persons in the alcohol industry.This is after Waititu’s administration came up with tough laws to regulate the business in the county. The law has seen some of the top clubs and bars closed after they were required to apply for new licenses.A section of bar owners recently held demonstrations to protest the new laws.
