A waitress in one of the hotels in Kisii town was on Wednesday morning caught by her boss asking for money from a customer.
The lady identified by the name Nyaboke, is said to be fond of asking for money in form of a tip from customers.
It is said that efforts by her colleagues to warn her against the habit fell on deaf ears as she never changed.
"You always jealous because I get money from the customers who love how I serve them. Improve on your sides and let me be," Ms Nyaboke has been telling her colleagues.
It is said that Ms Nyaboke could make up to Sh 5000 a day.
A lady who works with her who requested for anonymity told Hivisasa that Nyaboke was asking for money as usual from a customer while her boss stood right behind her.
"It is then that the boss summoned him to his office and fired her immediately," she said.
The manager then apologised to the customer who said that he was not pleased with the lady.
