Speaking to journalists at Machakos Law courts on Friday, Maanzo maintained that Mutua’s re-election was marred with illegalities and irregularities adding that an appeal will be filed soon.

‘'We are going to appeal the ruling immediately because we believe that justice has not been rendered,’' he stated.

Earlier on, Machakos High Court Judge Aggrey Muchelule upheld Mutua’s re-election on grounds citing lack of merit in the petition.

Muchelule noted that the petitioner failed to provide evidence to substantiate her allegations against governor Mutua's re-election.

Following the dismissal of the petition, Wavinya was directed to pay Sh10 million to the respondents.

Wavinya moved to court last year challenging Mutua's re-election claiming that it was marred by illegalities and irregularities.

She wanted the governor's win nullified and a fresh poll conducted.
