Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now wants a police document examiner involved in the examination of signatures in various affidavits filed by former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti as she seeks for the nullification of his win during the August General elections.

According to the Standard, Mutua, also Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement Leader, has asked the court to summon an document expert from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to testify in the petition.

The county boss has, however, maintained that he won in a free and fair manner, adding that his rival wants to change the will of the people of Machakos despite validly electing him to represent them.

In a sworn affidavit before Justice Aggrey Muchelule,Mutua’s lawyers challenged a testify delivered by the Ndeti’s lawyer Ham Lagat  after he told the court on Monday that he commissioned all the affidavits filed by the Wiper candidate.

Mutua’s side led by Ben Musau and Waweru Gatonye, argued that Lagat distanced himself from the affidavits. “The court must not allow proceedings whose credibility is in doubt. This court should summon the DCI to shed light on this report and guide the court on it because it is quite apparent there is a criminal aspect which I'm urging the court not to overlook,” said Musau. They also insisted that the affidavits are not worth being used in the case against the second term county boss.
