First and foremost, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua declaration to vie for Presidency has made him an enemy of some powerful politicians in the country.

His presidential dream, however, hangs in the balance following the nullification of his win.

The governor should understand the need to ‘keep people off-balance' and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense.

Mutua has repeatedly said he will be going for the nation’s top seat.

His remarks have made him feared by a number of politicians who want to contest for the seat when that time comes.

Secondly, his recent call for an audit of public servants has also made him a threat to leaders who do not believe in transparency.

The governor has maintained that he will not relent in his quest for better leadership.

“You find that somebody earns a salary of Sh50,000 yet they have three matatus in town and an apartment block. Where are they getting the money from if it not from the county or bribes? They cannot show a loan or how they got the money,” Mutua said.
