In a first referrence to the 2017 presidential race since his handshake with president Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila said they decided to work with Jubilee in order to benefit 'their people'.

"You know we speared the gazelle and when it run away to go die at the park our friends run and took it. They started sharing the meat with their people and that is why we decided to go and also have a share for our people," Raila said metaphorically.

Raila said they would not wait up to 2022 to try their luck on the top seat.
