In a list of his preferred choices posted on his Facebook Page last week, Miguna Miguna is among the politicians who could replace Polycarp Igathe who unexpectedly left City Hall.

However, according to Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Dr. Miguna Miguna should fulfill some requirements first if he is to be considered for the coveted position.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Sakaja said that the self-proclaimed NRM General should first Jubilee Party.

"Governor Mike Sonko is still consulting as far as getting new Deputy Governor of Nairobi is concerned. On the matter of Miguna Miguna being his deputy, he first has to be a Jubilee member," Sakaja said.

Miguna who was deported to Canada in February at the height of government crackdown on opposition politicians, contested the Nairobi Govetnite seat on an independent ticket but lost to Sonko. He swiftly shifted allegiance and joined NASA and became an important figure in the January 30 'swearing in' of Raila Odinga as 'People's President'- an event that sealed his fate.
