Youths in Kiambu County have been challenged to save as little as Sh100 daily to enable them start small businesses.

This is according to Mia Afrika Sacco Limited Chairman and CEO Sam Chege.

Chege said he started the Sacco which now gives loans to small scale traders.

“Youths should start saving as little as Sh100 daily and join small saccos that will give them loans to start small businesses such as tomato vendors, shoe shining and hawking eggs,” he said.

He called on youths to join Mia Afrika Sacco which has created avenue for youths to grow in businesses.

Chege said for one to join he or she should pay Sh300 registration fee and start depositing at least Sh100 daily which translates to Sh3,000 per month.

The CEO said Sacco members can also own the Sacco by buying shares.

Chege added that his main objective is to have people of low income access to credit to start businesses to boost livelihoods.
