Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has ruled out any possibility of NASA engaging in talks with Jubilee before Raila Odinga takes the oath of office.

Muthama said the opposition was not interested in power sharing with the ruling party, adding the ceremony to inaugurate Raila would go on as planned.

"We are not looking for a nusu-mkate government, we will still go ahead with the swearing-in of Raila, we know Kenyans are waiting for that moment, we will then dialogue from the same level," he said on Friday.

Speaking at Raila's Capitol Hill office in Nairobi, the  former Senator said after Tuesday's event, NASA will embark on its reforms agenda, which he accused Jubilee of delaying.

"We need to carry out reforms in the electoral system, devolution, governance and security. We will also work towards strengthening the Judiciary," he added.

Muthama's remarks come as calls for Raila to abandon his swearing-in intensify.

On Friday the international community, business and religious leaders said the opposition should hold dialogue with the government to end to current political stalemate.
