Many people have died because of snakes. There is no reason to panic if a snake bites because there ways to treat the same. However, you need to act fast to protect yourself from the venom. Here are some of the things you should immediately a snake bites you regardless of the part of the body.

1. Keep calm and restrict movement It is recommended not to panic once you have been bitten by a snake. Panicking will enhance your heart rate and make blood to circulate at a faster rate hence spreading the poison to different parts of the body

2. Stop the spread of the venom Gently bandage the area to prevent the venom from spreading to other areas. Remember to keep the hand as close as possible towards the heart.

 3. Do not cover the bitten area

It is not advisable to cover the area bitten by the snake. Covering is likely to lead to more harm than good. The area has to be cleaned using an antiseptic. Find out the color or type of the snake. There are poisonous and non-poisonous snakes. It is good to find out the kind of snake that has bitten you so that you can tell the medical expert. 

4. Seek quick medication

 Once you have taken the above precautions, seek medical attention immediately.
