Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said repeatedly he will be going for the nation‘s top seat in 2022. The collapse of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto’s marriage will be good news for Wiper patron. Kalonzo considers Ruto as the greatest threat to his quest to ascend to power.
The union of the two leaders makes it a nightmare for Kalonzo to win the seat when that time comes. The Ukambani leader is among the politicians wishing for the breakup of the two to give him an upper hand in 2022. The push for lifestyle audit has caused a storm in Jubilee. Leaders aligned to Ruto believe he is being targeted. Ruto has, however, said that he is ready to undergo the lifestyle audit.
“The President pronounced government policy on every public servant to be subjected to a lifestyle audit and it is expected that every public servant will submit themselves for lifestyle audit when that time comes. William Ruto will be among the first for that exercise,” said the Deputy President on Wednesday.
Kalonzo has insisted that he has what it takes to beat Ruto but things will be easier if the second in command walks alone during that time. The support of Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will make it even easier for Kalonzo to beat his rivals.
