However, her popularity started dwindling towards the 2017 general elections, and was easily beaten by current Kisumu Women Representative Rosa Akinyi Buyu during the ODM party primaries last year.

After losing to Buyu during nominations, she decided not to defend her seat. The move seemed to have taken her off the radar of Kisumu County politics.

She was however given a political lifeline by ODM leadership when she was nominated to the Senate.

She is currently a Nominated Senator. Unlike most elected her counterparts, she has maintained a stark silence, compared to when she served as Kisumu County Women Representative.

The wife to former Nyando Member of Parliament (MP) Erick Nyamunga has left many wondering what she is planning owing to her silence.

Could she be working on making a comeback? Is she planning to quit politics at the end of her term? these are some of the questions lingering among her supporters.

One thing is for sure, her silence should not be taken for weakness.
