Word doing rounds is that former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero is on his way back into the public limelight.

It is said that Kidero is being considered by President Uhuru Kenyatta for a cabinet post together with former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale.

But of what impact will such an appointment be?

What does Kidero bring to a government that is trying to prove itself on service delivery and ensure that Deputy President William Ruto is elected in 2022 on merit?

Jubilee should treat such possibility as the biggest joke of the season as Kidero cannot deliver anything but dent their name.

While serving at the helm of Nairobi county, what did he do that the city will remember him for?

What good did he do to Mumias Sugar Company that he can stand among Jubilee Cabinet Secretaries and say, this is what I did?

It should be remembered that in his last days at City Hall, the former governor was in constant squabbles with the national government over trivial matters as parking fees.

It appeared that he wanted any small reason to rattle Jubilee in office; what will happen now that he will be within, and able to rattle from within?

If appointed, Kidero will work hard to make Jubilee fail - his heart is in the opposition.

He would rather help Raila Odinga, whose campaigns he might have sponsored in both 2013 and 2017, then give Jubilee room to boast of good service delivery.

The talk better be a rumour.
