The first time MP said his attempts to have the bridge rehabilitated have been frustrated by the national government warning that it may cause a disaster in the constituency.

"Governmental processes can be very frustrating," the MP said on Sunday after inspecting the Miho Bridge.

"I have engaged every relevant authority on the precarious state of the Miho Bridge, on Ndori-Luanda Road, including under the Emergency Funds, with little success! When the bridge collapses, hear them proclaim an act of God!" he added.

The lawmaker took photos of the bridge he said needs urgent rehabilitation before it collapses, and shared them on social media drawing mixed reactions among users.

His constituency is among electoral zones in the country that have been receiving heavy rains since April.

He noted that the heavy rain water that runs across Miho bridge may destroy it altogether.

Since his election to Parliament, Otiende has won the hearts of many Rarieda residents especially because of his program that entails the construction of semi-permanent houses for residents living in grass-roofed houses.
