But what got many by surprise was how the Senegal fans inside the stadium did and what has kept them trending in various social media platforms across the world.

In one of the photos shared by Argentinian leading TV channel TyC Sports, Senegalese fans are seen assembling rubbish into a single pile after the historic match.

The channel also praised the fans saying, “Senegal pulled off a historic victory. But instead of partying in the minutes after the end of the game, they tasked themselves with cleaning up their section before leaving. #Respect.”

Senegal national team seems to remain the only hope for the continent after the whole teams representing Africa not doing well so far with the latest being Egypt who are on the brink of being bundled out of the competition after going down 3-1 in the hands of the host Russia who have since progressed to the last round of sixteen.

And speaking after the match, Mbaye Niang, the goalscorer, said, "We know Africa supports us. If we can make all the other African nations proud, that is twice as glorious. We’re thinking of our journey, trying to write our own story but if we can inspire the others, that's a greater honor for us."
