Mbui argues that Sonko is within his constitutional right to nominate Miguna.

Speaking to journalist's in Kathiani town on  Saturday, the Wiper MP castigated those bashing governor Sonko over the nomination.

"Governor Sonko's move to nominate Miguna as his deputy is within the confines of the law and people should stop criticizing him," he said.

Mbui stated that every Kenyan has a right to be nominated for any position so long as he or she qualifies for it.

He asked Sonko to stand firm and not to fall to political intimidation as the Nairobi governor.

Sonko's last week surprise move to nominate Miguna as his deputy continues to elicit reactions with some people terming it disastrous.

Sonko has defended his decision that has been vehemently opposed by a section of Jubilee politician's.

On Saturday, Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi confirmed that they will vet Miguna as deputy governor and will be approved if he gets the support of the required Members of the County Assembly.

This comes even as claims continue to emerge that Jubilee party could initiate an impeachment motion against the Nairobi governor over poor service delivery.
