Chama Cha Uzalendo co-ordinator Raphael Kyaalani said it's shameful for the governor and the MCAs to exchange bitter words.

"Why would a whole governor stoop so low as to claim the MCAs have been paid to oust him? he should accord them the respect they deserve," Kyaalani said.

Kyalaani said according to the Court of Appeal's decision two weeks ago, Mutua should step aside and let the speaker take charge since a lot of things are still pending.

" The governor should step aside and let the speaker take his place to keep Machakos moving, things have stagnated. There's no development going on," Kyalaani said.

He said the current nurses strike need an urgent address before things get worse.

"Our people are suffering why are doctors and nurses not paid yet the health ministry is accorded the largest chunk of money from the treasury," Kyalaani added.

Last week, speaker Florence Mwangangi declined to take Governor Mutua's position stating she had to make legal consultations.

The MCAs had debated and voted in one accord to oust the governor due to the appellant court's ruling.
