Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has hit back at the bar owners 'fighting' him over his crackdown on illicit brews saying that they never voted for him.
Speaking in Thika Town on Tuesday, when he oversaw the closure of Society Stores Supermarket that also stocks alcohol, Waititu vowed to continue with the crackdown till the whole of Kiambu is back to 'sobriety'.
"I will continue with the crackdown till the last drop of these illicit and substandard brews goes down the drain. I am not going to make any compromise on this and neither will I backtrack," affirmed Waititu.
He added: "I know why those bar owners are fighting me. They did not even vote for me and I never asked them for their votes. I never entered any bar to ask for votes and neither did I ask any drunkard to vote for me.
"Waititu said he asked for votes from 'sober' people, the reason why he is steering a 'sobriety agenda'.
The governor noted that there will be no reckless sale of alcohol in Kiambu during his reign adding that those fighting him should look for another trade.
