Here are a few easy steps to get paid for news stories. Anyone can write for us and you do not need any particular credentials. Some writers already make Sh8,000 per week!  Nanjilah is one of them. Read more testimonials here from our top earning writers.

How It Works

1. Create a Profile

It’s really easy to get started. Create a profile here: enter your name, M-pesa number, email

Except for the name you choose to write under, all your information will be kept secret. It’s important you give us your correct M-pesa number so that we can pay you.

2. Write a Story

As soon as you have created your profile, you can immediately start writing.

Now... what to write about? We publish all local news stories (and news photos) that are locally relevant, accurate and newsworthy. We are currently accepting stories about Nakuru, Kiambu, Machakos, Kisii, Nyamira, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu,Garissa, Mombasa Counties and Kibera (Nairobi).

You don’t need any particular education, or any credentials, to write a news story. Anyone can submit news stories about what’s happening around them. As long as they are factually accurate, locally relevant, and newsworthy. Even better if they have an original photo attached (taken from your phone for example). 3. Receive Payment

After you’ve submitted a story, we screen it briefly to make sure that it is your own content and that it is not inappropriate in any way.

If your article passes the screening we will publish it and you will get paid via Mpesa. If your story is rejected you will get a reason why. Read about our payment method here.
