The Jubilee party in Kapkures ward, Nakuru Town West Sub-County, on Saturday held its grassroots elections.
The low key exercise was held at PCEA church in Kapkures and came to an end just before 4 pm without any mishap.
Margret Kipsilsil was elected the chairperson with Davis Saikwa with and as her deputy, the newly elected organizing secretary is Benjamin Chumo.
Other officials are Eseli Aswani as secretary, Leonard Cheruiyot, vice secretary, Leah Kurgat and Samwel Yator who was elected treasurer and vice treasurer respectively.
However, as the names were announced, some residents complained of not having been aware of the elections.
Alfred Kitur, the personal assistant to the area MCA says that he had not heard of the planned elections and his sentiments were echoed by many.
Kennedy Kenter, who is the area youth leader said those who took part in the elections were political brokers and the residents will not accept them.
“Those are not leaders but political brokers. Participants were invited to the exercise by way of sms," said Kenter.
"The short messages were sent to particular people who are supporters of a certain group just to go and rubberstamp the for the so-called leaders,” he added.
Kenter even alleged that those who took part in the exercise were paid to take part in the exercise.
He has asked the residents to ignore those newly elected leaders and wait for the official election to be announced.
“Genuine leaders will be elected in a genuine election with all the residents taking part," said Kenter.
"This is just a propaganda and I request the residents of Kapkures to ignore these so-called leaders," added Kenter.
