Seme Constituency MP Dr James Nyikal has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to crack the whip on those mentioned on the National Youth Service scandal.

Nyikal said the President has a role to lead a free corrupt country and should ensure that even those close to him involved in corruption are shown the door.

He said there is clear evidence that corruption is eating into the economy of the country and must be curtailed.

“It is very clear that corruption is in this government. I want to appeal to President Uhuru to come out strongly and deal with these corrupt elements being mentioned on NYS scandal,” he said.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Thursday, Nyikal said the theft in NYS was fore planned by the government.

He said for the first time, NYS received huge amounts of money in the last financial year.

The MP said the huge budget was a conspiracy to siphon public funds through dubious business deals.

“We now know why NYS was given huge budget allocations, it was a plan to steal public funds, as Kenyans we must demand action from the government,” he said.

He urged the public to keep pressure on the government to deal with the runaway corruption that threatens to derail the economy of the country.
