Kibera and Langata residents have been asked to collect their national identity cards from the relevant office in order to use them for the upcoming general elections.
Speaking on Monday in her office, Ann Odedi, the officer in charge said that there are many IDs in her office that have piled up over the last two years that are yet to be collected.
“There are several IDs in my office that Langata and Kibera residents applied for in the last two years. Since then, they have not come to collect them. Some people don’t collect them because they believe they’re of no help,” she said.
“It is your right as residents to apply and get IDs. Voter registration is ongoing, how will you register without IDs? Come collect them,’’ Ms Odedi said.
The officer concluded that some people might have moved from Langata and Kibera to other areas hence the delay in ID collection. She, however, urged them to come and pick them.
