There's something inspiring about a young man who speaks so intensely about his passion and the love for God.
With all the controversies that sorround young gospel artistes in Kenya, one is left with no choice but to salute the few who have risen against the wave for conformity.
On Friday, this writer had an one on one interview with Nakuru's finest upcoming gospel artiste Biggy Besha.
His name real is Kevin Kamau Njoroge and Gospel Genge is his genre of music.
"I'm a gospel rapper. I like giving stories that's why I chose Gospel Genge. This is my fourth year in the industry," he introduces himself.
With his "Naomba" hitting the airwaves, Biggy Besha confirms that he has three songs, the other two being: Wanauliza and Nishatumana.
In addition, he has done three collabos which can also be downloaded on his videos on YouTube and mdundo.com.
"I will be releasing a album next year and details will be disclosed as the year gets older," he said.
Apart from music, Biggy Besha who holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (Marketing option), also works as the sales and marketing manager in a middle size company in Nakuru town.
When this writer asked what pushes him everyday, the self-proclaimed addict of ugali and chicken passionately says that its by the fact that he knows God has better plans for him which he terms as :" Plans to prosper me and not to fail me, provided I live according to His will."
His message to upcoming artistes especially gospel artistes is to stick to the course. "Don't look for fame, don't commercialise the word of God, being a gospel artiste is no business but a calling. God is looking for those who will worship Him in truth and in spirit for their reward is great," he said.
His parting shot: "My mentor is my God. He constantly speaks to me through His word. One must read the word no excuse! The Bible days, "if you remain in me and my words remain in you,I will do whatever you ask I'n my name."
