Gatundu North Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Nyamiti has warned residents against over indulging in activities this festive season.
Speaking at Kamwangi trading centre on Tuesday, Nyamiti asked residents to behave responsibly.
He said that some people are likely to take advantage of the festive season to over indulge in alcohol and other activities.
“We are advising Kenyans not to over indulge this festive season and instead act in a responsible manner,” he said.
Nyamiti warned that police will not hesitate to arrest anyone found going against the law.
He said that police have been deployed across the sub-county to conduct patrols. The DCC said that security will remain tight and urged residents to be vigilant.
On the same note, the DCC cautioned drivers against drunk-driving. He said that any driver or motorists found driving while under the influence of alcohol will be arrested.
Nyamiti said that police have partnered with officials from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to ensure law and order on the roads.
