Education CS Dr Fred Matiangi has blamed dismal performance in education sector to politics in school management.
Speaking in Kebirigo boys’ school on Monday, where he addressed principals within the county, Matiangi condemned Nyamira politicians for turning the education sector into a political ground, where they wanted to decide on whom to manage the schools.
“We are being too petty and affecting our education system, we won't allow our principals to be subjected to this kind of intimidation on silly grounds of clanism, am ready to part ways with my colleagues on this for the sake of our education,” he said.
He asked them to keep off schools’ management and mind their politics as they had no clue on the management of the education sector.
“You should mind your own business, you have no clue on this sector and let's do our work,” he added.
Matiangi also said he will disband all board of management (BOM)that are comprised of locals and are fighting principals.
