Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Thursday got a rare opportunity during his development projects tours in Gilgil after an elderly woman stepped from the crowd to bless him.
To the amazement of the crowd, 86-year-old Sarah Muthoni managed to beat the governor’s security detail and faced him just before he cut the tape while officially commissioning the Komothai Road in Murindat Ward.
The ageing Muthoni said she is convinced with what the governor is doing especially after he ensured the area recently got a polytechnic to help youths harness their skills.
“My alcoholic grandson has now reformed and is fully concentrating on education after enrolling at the polytechnic. I am very proud of mheshimiwa governor,” she said.
She accused young and inexperienced leaders of misleading the community for personal gains arguing that Murindat would be a better place if leaders who walked their talk would be voted in.
The governor spend the better part of Thursday afternoon in Gilgil sub-county touring different projects initiated by his government in different wards.
He expressed his satisfaction with his development plan so far further, eluding confidence in delivering all his campaign promises so as to improve on the livelihoods of Nakuru residents.
