Nakuru residents will soon get access to quality healthcare in the next few months after officials from the Karen Group of hospitals and a group of international investors officially handed over a blueprint of the finished product they expect to set up in the county.

Chief executive cum founder Dr Betty Gikonyo said the development is meant to cater for the needs of the Nakuru market while at the same time helping the county government achieve its target of providing quality and affordable medical services.

Speaking at the county headquarters after handing over the blueprint to county Secretary Joseph Motari, Dr Gikonyo thanked the county government for offering them an opportunity to invest in the region; an opportunity she believes will open up Nakuru further for greater investment opportunities from international investors.

“Such opportunities are rare to come by because of the undisputed competition such a county is drawing because of it being versatile. We will not disappoint,” she said.

The CEO expressed confidence of a successful business partnership saying they plan to involve other private investors in erecting a state-of-the-art facility that will offer comprehensive medical services for the region.

Motari pledged full support from the county government saying the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua-led administration is committed at working with investors ready to initiate projects aimed at improving people's livelihoods.

The Karen Group of hospitals has about nine satellite clinics across the East African region with the Nakuru branch being their latest entrant.
