Nakuru County ODM chairman Peter ole Osono has appealed to Nakuru residents to turn up in large numbers and register as voters ahead of the 2017 general election as this will ensure they knock out the ruling party, Jubilee out of government.

Ole Osono was speaking to the media on Sunday shortly after the unveiling of new ODM party county leaders in Nakuru where he was chosen as the party’s county chairman by the National Elections Board chairperson Judith Pareno, the board`s secretary Prof Nyaigoti Chacha and Executive director Oduor Ong`wen.

"We are looking forward to winning the 2017 elections and moving to State House under our party leader Hon Raila Odinga without any controversy. Therefore all we need is massive turn out for registration to help us beat our opponents in the 2017 elections," Ole Osono added.

The Gilgil politician also said the move will help people elect responsible leaders who will not tolerate corruption and tribalism in the country.

"As we prepare for the 2017 general election, we urge all citizens to turn up in large and register as voters. This will help in voting in responsible leaders who will serve people with honesty and transparency," Ole Osono stated.

Dorcas Nyaundi has been endorsed as secretary for women affairs and promised to mobilise all men to ensure their wives register as voters.

"We will take serious legal action against all men living with women without national identity cards. All men should ensure their wives have IDs and register as voters to enable us vote in leaders who will address historical grievances among women," Mrs Nyaundi said.
