Passengers using the Kangundo-Nairobi road have been urged to report drivers who flout traffic rules during this festive season, in a bid to ensure their safety.

Speaking in his office in Tala Town on Tuesday, Makata Sacco chairman Langi Muthiani said many drivers tend to flout traffic rules during the festive season as they scramble for passengers.

Muthiani said many passengers do not raise concerns over the behaviour, not knowing the danger they are exposing themselves to.

The chairman said many passengers agree to board vehicles that are already full or those without safety belts, not knowing that it is against the law.

"Unless you want to celebrate this festive season in a hospital bed, you should not tolerate drivers who break traffic rules,” said Muthiani.

Matungulu OCPD Joseph Chesire said stiff action will be taken against drivers who flout traffic rules this festive season.

Chesire also asked drivers to ensure that they use the routes that are assigned to them.
