The drainage systems at Soweto Village are in very poor conditions, which lead to the outbreak of various diseases in the area.
The residents say they are having a hard time since the drainage channels are deplorable and the area has a foul smell that surrounds it and neither the area municipality nor the county government authority seems to be willing to change the situation.
The environment in the area is dirty as water is stagnant thus favouring the breeding of mosquitoes. The odour is all over and residents are worried where to get help from since the relevant authorities have failed to come to their rescue.
"Our leaders are doing nothing to improve the poor state of drainage systems in the area and this will make them lose their seats come 2017," said Philip Katam, a Soweto village resident.
