The industry investment and trade minister, Adan Mohamed has challenged locals to invest at home as they understand a lot on the local market and any other challenge in business than any other person.
Speaking at Kisii County investment summit over the weekend, Mohamed said that Kenya is now the business destination that people should invest in. The CS raised concern with the charges and levies charged by counties on those doing business across the counties saying that they are discouraging to investors.
The Kisii governor, James Ongwae joined the CS calling on the local investors to come home to invest. The governor asked all those in the diaspora to come back home and invest in Kisii County.

The summit was the first to be held in Kisii County targeting local investors as well as those in the diaspora. Kisii has a lot of raw materials like soapstone and food products but with no single processing industry.
