A bodaboda operator was arrested on February 29, 2016 ferrying illicit brew at Kathini, Ekalakala in Masinga sub-county. 

He was reportedly carrying several crates astra type of illicit liquor. 

According to Ekalakala chief Benjamin Wambua the bodaboda operator was suspected by one of the residents as he was heading to Muthesya who tipped him and took immediate action. 

"Ferrying illicit liquor one place to another has become common in Masinga. There are some bars already put on notice selling the liquor and which the culprit will give us the names of the owners starting with where he was ferrying to and where he was coming from," said Wambua. 

He was arrested by the chief assisted by community police officers and taken to Ekalakala police station. 

Wambua warned those people in his area taking the brew as any time they will be arrested and heavy law taken on them. 

The culprit will be transferred to Kithimani police where he will be arraigned in court when the date is set.
