Barely two months after expressing his interest in Nyamira gubernatorial seat, the former Kitutu Masaba Mp Walter Nyambati received a major boost in his camp.

Two popular aspirants from the region Kinara Ndubi and Evans Misati on Sunday bowed out of the race and declared their support to Nyambati.

Speaking at Bogwendo, Ndubi backed Nyambati saying he had a larger network in all four constituencies and stood a good chance to kick start development in the county.

“I do not want to stay in the race any longer now that Walter (Nyambati) has joined it. He has a good network of the county and his development record is outstanding," said Ndubi.

"He stands a better chance too and I hope he will kick start development in the county,” he added.

Misati on his part cited ‘personal commitment’ as the reason behind his declaration, saying that the former Mp was the unifying factor of the larger Kitutu Masaba constituency.

“I have many personal commitments and I think I can no longer contest the gubernatorial seat," said Misati.

"In the same measure, I think Nyambati can be able to unify the people of Kitutu Masaba because we have a large voting bloc," added Misati.

"Let us support his bid and hopefully form a government in 2017,” said Misati.

The exit of the two from the race now leaves the contest between Charles Mochama and Nyambati who are keen to topple incumbent Governor John Nyagarama.
