Kisii county government under the Ministry of Health has put measures in place to sensitize residents on the importance of visiting the hospital for a regular eye checkup.
According to the Kisii Cabinet Secretary for health Sarah Omache most residents have been affected with eye diseases simply because they do not visit health centers for checkup.
“Many residents are affected with eye diseases simply because they do not visit hospitals for the checkup even when they have such problems,” said Sarah.
She added that the county has put measures in place to help residents with such problems across the county. This will be made possible through a free eye clinic exercises which will kick off on Sunday at Marani sub-county hospital.
She advised all residents with eye problems to come out in large numbers.
“On Sunday we will have a medical camp at Marani sub-county Hospital hence I encourage our residents to visit since the exercise will be free to all so let them come and benefit,” said Omache.
In addition, she challenged people from remote areas to use the opportunity the ministry has brought incorporation with other stakeholders in order to help them.
